    WESSON – Seven outstanding sophomores on Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Wesson campus have been named to the college’s Hall of Fame, the highest honor that can be given a Co-Lin student.
    During the college’s Annual Awards Day, Copiah-Lincoln President Dr. Howell C. Garner announced the 2008 Hall of Fame recipients are Rachel Blair and Jake Godard, both of Brookhaven; Amber Bowman of Wesson, Margaret Howard of Smithdale, Meleah Brown of Bogue Chitto, Joseph Summers of Monticello, and Michelle Trest of Hernando.

    MENDENHALL – Sophomore Jadan Warren of Magee was the 2008 inductee into Copiah-Lincoln Simpson County Center’s Hall of Fame, the highest honor that can be given a Co-Lin student. Copiah-Lincoln President Dr. Howell C. Garner made the announcement during the college’s second Awards Day program.
    Warren serves as vice president of the Beta Xi Psi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and the Student Government Association. Warren is also a member of Phi Beta Lambda, Fellowship of Christian Students, and the Chess Club. He was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges and a Campus Favorite. He is the recipient of the H. F. McCarty Jr. Endowed Scholarships.

Evans, Johnson named to All-Mississippi Team Print E-mail

    JACKSON – Copiah-Lincoln Community College sophomores Anna Evans of McCall Creek and Mallory Johnson of Brookhaven were recently named to the All-Mississippi Academic Team. Evans was named to the First Team and will receive a $1,000 scholarship and Johnson was named to the Second Team.
    Fifty-two members of the All-Mississippi Teams were recognized at the State Capitol by the Mississippi Legislature and honored at a luncheon. The All-Mississippi Academic Team program is coordinated by The Clarion-Ledger, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges, and the Mississippi State Board for Community and Junior Colleges.

Garner accomplishes much for campus and community Print E-mail

    Dr. Howell Garner has served as president of Copiah-Lincoln Community College for 11 years. During that time he has been a part of many major projects to improve the college. From academics to atheletics, Garner has enhanced student programs in countless ways.
    Garner will retire as president on June 30, 2008. A reception will be held in his honor on Sunday, May 18, from 2-4 p.m. at The Thames Center. The public is cordially invited to attend.
